Myofascial Release
Let Massage Finder find your massage needs.

Myofascial release is the result of several techniques applied to the body with the intent of resetting the length and tension of fascia. Fascia is connective tissue that encapsulates and innervates muscles, organs, ligaments, and tendons.

Fascia can become inflamed because of overstretching or overuse of the muscles that it covers. That inflammation results from the fascial tissue becoming dense and thick which then causes a localized pain. Myofascial release aims to decrease the thickening of the tissue and decrease the inflammatoty response.

Most myofascial release is performed through direct contact with movement on the skin with no lubricant. The treatment produces mild discomfort and a “burning” sensation for the client as it is applied.
